Application of the tool in your subject area

MATH:Google groups would be a great way to let students get together to collaborate on homework and study for math tests. If they are stuck on a certain problem, they can post it as a discussion topic and other students can then put in their knowledge and post help. The teacher will set up the page, therefore being the group manager and overseeing the group. This way they can eliminate inappropriate posts, report spam, control membership, control access, and change the group appearance. The teacher will be the facilitator of the group. As members, the student will be posting and discussing. They can post google docs, links, add pages, and reply to other post. For the math content area, the students main purpose on the site will be to collaborate on homework and help eachother with challenging problems. The tool will also allow them to post information they found helpful for other students to see. Even though math is mainly done with paper and pencil, the Google Groups application is a great way to let students discuss and communicate about homework, tests, quizzes, and possible projects. The teacher can also post information about what is coming up in class.
